In the media recently is a group of scientists growing a tooth implant from urine! A novel approach, and it go us at Smile Artistry thinking…

Could you have a tooth removed and just have a new one implanted?

The article read about how scientists have extracted gorwth potential from urine to grow tooth-like substances.  The substance was only one third as strong as tooth enamel and was only successful 30% of the time.

So, could a tooth implant be a viable solution when you need a tooth totally replaced?

Would the tooth implant grow to the correct colour?

Would the tooth implant grow to the correct shape?

Would the tooth implant fit into your bite properly?

Would the tooth implant be vital with a healthy nerve?

So, currently we already have been using Dental implants for many decades, very successfully.  Dental Implants may in fact be better than a tooth implant because they are made from titanium and will not decay!  Dental Implants in comparison to tooth implants can be done immediately, and do not need to be grown in a laboratory first.

One would imagine the cost of growing a tooth implant is going to be signficiant, and in comparision Dental Implants are manufactured on alarge scale, reducing cost.

With Dental Implants offering a 98% success rate, do we need to search for anything else like tooth implants?
